    In an interview with the media, Qi Haikun, president of THE Solar Tech Co., Ltd, said that although domestic battery manufacturers mostly use square cell structures, as China's battery manufacturers pay more attention to 4680 batteries and enhance their technological research capabilities, the scale of investment in production capacity will also show an enlarging trend.

     

    In fact, due to the simplicity of their own processes and a high degree of standardization, as well as the reduction of structural components at the level of the whole package reorganization is simple, etc., large cylindrical batteries have certain advantages in reducing the overall cost. "Although for domestic battery companies, some process technology of 4680 battery still has difficulties, after all, it is a product of industry upgrading and iteration, and the battery manufacturers with strength are trying to overcome and achieve the leading position." Qi Haikun said.

 

    But in the battery manufacturers to increase the code of sizeable cylindrical battery capacity at the same time, some industry insiders also said, "the square battery-based pattern will continue for a long time, cylindrical battery scale development needs to continue to improve the industry chain."

 

    Qi Haikun also reminded us that battery companies should develop different types of products and not put their eggs in one basket. "Whether square batteries or cylindrical batteries such as 4680 batteries are derived from the relevant enterprises for the power battery industry technology accumulation, full understanding, the development of different types of products, both to avoid the ups and downs of some industry customers, but also to reduce the risk brought about by differences in technology routes."
